Aalborg Boldspils was founded in 1885 and it currently hosts football, American football, floorball and, starting from this year, E-sport. The club is well founded and it is the back bone behind the Superliga club AaB. It can count about 1,200 members who every day enjoy the fun of sport. The club is placed in Aalborg East, which is an area in North Jytland where there are high unemployment and low education.
Aalborg’s main focuses are match fixing, fair play and governance, and the club would like to sensitise the whole Europe about these topics.
Aalborg Boldspils worked with EMCA (European Multisport Clubs Association) and it joined in a EU project with “Sport for all”.
The Project Coordinator for Aalborg is Mette Andersen. In 2000, she was awarded the Candidata Magisterii in literature and film science at Aalborg University. From 2000 to 2004, she worked as marketing responsible at Realestate and from 2004 to 2006 she worked for Weber Grill in the same position. She was project manager for Aalborg Boldspils in 2006 and in 2010 she worked as educator for the Dansk Boldspil Union (Danish Football Association.
