Today, 6 November 2019, the partners from Feyenoord, Lazio and HASK Mladost, represented by Martijn Looren de Jong, Gabriella Bascelli and Bojan Mijatovic respectively met up with the local coordinators of Aalborg, Niels Kristian Heijlesen and Henrik Schleppegrell Thomsen for the 3rd Transnational trip in the project FHfW.
The local coordinators took us to visit the school Skipper Clement Skolen where we witnessed how much impact the project FHfW has had on the school. The coach Nikolas Morton, originally from New Zealand, organised a training session with the school children and a match at the end. Incredibly, before the project FHfW, the school did not play field hockey. It is thanks to this project that 4 schools in Aalborg now play field hockey (inside when there’s bad weather) and thanks to EU co-funding, Aalborg has been able to purchase the hockey sticks, balls, goal posts, chin pads and other playing equipment to give to the schools so that they are able to continue playing field hockey even after the project.
The partners met the Headmaster Mr. Peter Würtz who was very kind. We had a meeting with him and we had the possibility to exchange thoughts and ideas in the project and the sustainability at the end of the project. The partners asked many questions to to headmaster about the facilities and their sport ideologies.
After lunch, the partners proceeded to visit the very impressive Aalborg Sports Facility. A meeting was held with the partners to organise the final meeting and dissemination event which will be held in Rotterdam from 2-4 December. In that occasion we will be honoured with the presence of the President of European Hockey Federation, Marijke Fleuren.
