With our very own Bojan Mijatovič acting as our tour guide, the team delegates from S.S Lazio(Italy), Aalborg BK(Denmark), Feyernoord (Netherlands) and HAŠK Mladost (Croatia) were treated to a team building exercise with a tour of central Zagreb, which created a great backdrop for the delegates to understand the history of Zagreb and how this impacted the country and sports development as a whole within Croatia.

In the afternoon the delegates attended at the elementary school OS Precko where they witnessed a training session of field hockey for the school girls (aged 8-10). The team met with the external hockey coach ( from HAŠK) and headmistress of the school who explained the various sports programs that the school is involved in and especially the impact that the Field Hockey for Women (FHfW) program has had on the engagement of girls with field hockey as an extra circulium activity. This is of significance considering the low engagement rate of girls in sports. The FHfW program has used various initiatives such as the provision of equipment and sports uniforms to show its commitment to the program and to attract the girls to partake. The program has so far been successful in signing up many girls to club hockey.

In the evening, at the Mladost hockey training fields, the various coaches of Mladost, provided a presentation on the Mladost hockey club (proudly awarded Small European Hockey Club of the Year 2018) and the development initiatives, emphasizing that the social aspect of the game is also very important for the teams.
