Yesterday S.S. Lazio Hockey hosted the first day of the Field Hockey for Women transnational meeting at the prestigious Circolo Canottieri Lazio in Rome. All four partners were present, Feyenoord represented by Quirine van Laack and Wessel Verhaar; Aalborg represented by Niels Christian Hejlesen and Anni Uggerholm-Nielsen, HASK Mladost represented by Bojan Mijatovic and Nikola Hanzek and Lazio Hockey represented by Pres. Roberto Brocco and project coordinator Gabriella Bascelli. The event started off with a meeting to update the partners on the progress of the project, check milestones, share experiences and prepare the objectives for the next few months. The partners had the chance to introduce themselves and share their history with the other partners creating a friendly and fruitful relationship.
After the meeting, the partners were invited onto the terrace of the club house for an aperitivo and mingling with each other along with other Presidents of the Lazio Multisport Sections and guests. Mr. Federico Eichberg, Secretary General of EMCA and Vicar Vice President of the S.S. Lazio Multisport club welcomed the partners and the guests with enthusiastic words about the project. Following the intervention of Mr. Eichberg, Mrs. Sabina Zampetti, representative of the European Hockey Federation was kind enough to join us and gave a speech sharing her experiences and insights regarding field hockey in Europe.
With the backdrop of a magical sunset over the Tiber, the partners ended the evening with a toast to the project and gratitude to the European Commission for the possibility to share experiences and promote such a wonderful and effective project in the schools of our respective cities.
